Painted White Hutch

I have wanted a white hutch for a looOOooong time now.  I was fortunate and grateful that I was given an oak hutch a year or so ago.  It was a large and beautiful piece, however, it was very dated and dark.  I knew immediately that I wanted to paint it white to brighten up my kitchen.  Not too long after we obtained it my amazing husband sanded it and put a coat of primer on it.  Then it sat and sat for months!  We finally decided to hire out the painting of it.  We knew we wanted a professional finish.

The color we decided on is Benjamin Moore’s Simply White.  I absolutely love the color!  We took out the decorative glass out and had new plain glass cut for it.  We picked up new brushed nickel hardware from Loewe’s.

I actually did not take a before picture (I forgot to).  I found a close look-a-like picture of the “before” online.

I am thrilled with the results!  It was an investment to update the piece, but definitely worth it.  It’s amazing how paint and new hardware has given the piece a completely new life!
